What is EPR?
EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) is a category of environmental sustainability laws passed in the United States which requires companies which sell products to see through the recycling of their product once used. For batteries, this means companies are responsible paying for the recycling process. For you, this means that, in states which have passed EPR laws, it is free to mail boxes of batteries you have collected to The Battery Network. There are a total of 8 states which have passed EPR laws: Maine, Oregon, Colorado, California, Minnesota, Maryland, and Washington. Wisconsin will put them in effect in 2029.
